JINI AND GIACOMO

I grew up on the banks of Lake Oswego in Oregon. I could
swim in my back yard. If I wanted to swim with other kids, I would go to the park near our house. One afternoon, when I was fourteen, I was swimming at the park, and saw a girl I knew, whose name was Darlene. She introduced me to her cousin, who lived on a farm in a community about 20 miles away, and was visiting for the day. Jini was the first real friend I ever had, and we have remained friends since we first met.
Giacomo Puccini composed several operas, including those
which most people recognize: La Boheme, Tosca, Turandot, and Madama Butterfly. He composed other forms of music as well, but is mainly known for his operas. La Boheme is said to be the most-loved opera of all. Jini and her husband, Marvin, recently traveled to Italy, and stopped at the site of Puccini's home, where she is pictured, standing beside the statue of the Maestro.
